Dr Safak Arslantürkoglu has been appointed programme coordinator of the continuing education programme CAS ETH in Seismic Evaluation and Retrofitting (CAS ETH SER) at ETH Zurich.
The part-time programme is aimed at civil and structural engineers and provides up-to-date methods for the seismic assessment and retrofitting of existing structures. It combines theoretical foundations with practical applications and case studies from engineering practice.
For the 2026-2027 edition, the programme has been redesigned and further developed. The curriculum is now organised into clearly structured thematic modules with an even stronger focus on practical applications, case studies and model-based analysis and assessment methods. In addition, new guest lecturers and a site visit have been integrated to further strengthen the link between design and implementation.
The programme has also been expanded from 10 to 15 ECTS credits. The lecture period runs from 4 September to 12 December 2026 and is followed by a supervised project phase.
